    Sounds and visuals, planetarium-style

    James Burke (submitted)

Under the wing of Stars to STEM, a non-profit group, the recently rehabbed planetarium at East Lyme High School will host a variety of programming including arts and culture presentations.

On Friday, live ambient/drone/electronic pop performances will unfold improvisationally beneath a montage of visuals created and projected by photographer/videographer Emily Barressi. Playing separately will be accomplished and evocative local musicians James Burke, Russell Linder and Michael Slyne

The concert was conceptualized by Jason Deeble, an author, illustrator, educator and Niantic resident working with Stars to STEM to repurpose the planetarium for live music events.

Planetarium Performance, 7-10 p.m. Friday, Stars to STEM Regional Planetarium, 30 Cheterfield Road, East Lyme; free; (860) 885-9389.
