    Connecticut Open House Day happens Saturday

    Connecticut Open House Day will be Saturday, and more than 225 attractions across the state, including more than 30 in New London county, will offer free or discounted admission or special offers to Connecticut residents.

    This event is designed to showcase Connecticut's diverse mix of history, art, culture and tourism. Participating properties include attractions, historical sites, museums, galleries and restaurants.

    The local venues taking part include the Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut in Niantic; the Custom House Maritime Museum in New London; the Hempsted Houses in New London; the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London; the Leffingwell House Museum in Norwich; the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center in Mashantucket; the Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich; the Smith-Harris House Museum in Niantic; the Thomas Lee House in Niantic; and the Tantaquidgeon Museum in Uncasville.
