La Grua hosts virtual chat with crime fiction authors of color
Stonington's La Grua Center will host a virtual chat, "Writing, Reading, and Racism: Celebrating Today's Best Mystery Authors," at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The panel includes S.A. Cosby (2019 Anthony Award recipient), Kellye Garrett (the Agatha Award-winning "Detective by Day" series), moderator Manju Soni (author of thrillers and science books for children), and David Heska Wanbli Weiden ("Winter Counts," a New York Times Book Review editor's choice).
The discussion will likely include an historical perspective as well as conversation about trends in publishing and an explosion of powerful young crime authors of color.
Tickets are $10, available at lagruacenter.org. A private link will be shared with ticket holders approximately two hours before the event and again 15 minutes before start time. For more information, contact the LaGrua Center at (860) 535-2300.
