From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, visit Harkness Memorial State Park to see the daylilies in peak bloom. Roughly 70 varieties - some with blooms more than five inches and miniatures whose blooms are less than four inches - are propagated on the grounds and will be available for purchase. Most plants will be sold for $8, with clumbs of miniatures selling for $12 and the annual "surprises" will sell for $4.
All proceeds will benefit The Friends of Harkness, which has funded this project since 2006. For more information, call (860) 444-2027.
