Live Lunch Break Flashback - The Hempsteadys
If you showed up at noon in The Telegraph Record Shop Thursday, hoping to catch The Day's "Live Lunch Break" performance series, well - there was no band, was there? To coordinate the schedules of all dozen or so members of The Hempsteadys, New London's excellent reggae pranksters, we recorded the show a few weeks back. As always, you can catch all the musical fun by accessing theday.com. Among the things you'll see and hear are:
• The band promises their long-anticipated, full-length album will be out by the middle of the year. They further whetted all appetites by playing most of the tunes therein.
• It IS possible to fit all the Hempsteadys in the Telegraph performance space.
• Yes, that was host Rick Koster making the first-ever allusion to Peter Gabriel-era Genesis in the context of The Hempsteadys.
