A quartet of artists have been selected to display their works in the “Summer Exhibition” at Groton’s Alexey von Schlippe Gallery of Art. Paintings in a variety of formats and styles, by Rick Daskam, Rita Dawley, Mark Gerard McKee and the late Viretta Hoskins Smith, will be featured. The show opens Saturday, but the official reception takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. July 31 and will feature entertainment from The Bill Morrison & Charlie Sutton Jazz Duo. The gallery is in the Branford House Mansion on the Avery Point campus of the University of Connecticut.
