Norwich NAACP hosts Sweet Potato Festival

In celebration of Black History Month, the Norwich Branch NAACP will present its annual Sweet Potato Festival from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Rose City Senior Center, 8 Mahan Drive, Norwich.

The festival will feature a luncheon of barbecued and baked chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, black-eyed peas and rice, cornbread and peach cobbler and a special tasting table offering assorted sweet potato desserts, including pies, for sale. Takeout is available.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children age 12 and younger. For tickets or information, call (860) 886-1686 or send email to sweetpotatofestival@gmail.com.
