    Tibetan Buddhist monk to speak on mindfulness

    Khenchen Tsultrim Lodrö Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist teacher, will present a free public talk, “Developing Our Minds to Improve Our Lives,” on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at St. Thomas Seminary, 467 Bloomfield Ave., Bloomfield.

    Khenchen Rinpoche teaches Buddhism-based social and environmental activism worldwide with an emphasis on environmental protection, animal welfare, a vegetarian diet, AIDS and public health awareness, education and the preservation of life. He presides over the largest Buddhist university in the world, the Larung Five Sciences Buddhist Academy in Tibet.

    The talk is sponsored by Katog Vajra Ling, a Buddhist meditation center, in Guilford.
