Comedy troupe the Tenderloins enterain New Year's Eve at Mohegan Sun

New York-based comedy troupe The Tenderloins (Joe Papeo)

Improv comedy is an iffy concept. Many come to feel that it helps if the members are quick on their feet and also funny.

This is apparently the case with the Tenderloins, who entertain New Year's Eve in the Mohegan Sun Arena. Made up of Joe Gatto (not the baseball player), James Murray, Brian Quinn and Sal Vulcano (not the volcano), the 'loins are also famous as the creators, executive producers, and stars of truTV's hit series, "Impractical Jokers."

The performance is part of a new Tenderloins tour called, for reasons that will become apparent during the show, "The Cranjis McBasketball World Comedy Tour." Cue the chortles.

The Tenderloins' "Cranjis McBasketball World Comedy Tour," 8 p.m. Tuesday, Mohegan Sun Arena; $49-$89; 1-800-745-3000.
