Group paddle on Mystic River postponed

Mystic – The Alliance for the Mystic River Watershed has postponed Sunday’s group paddle for kayaks, canoes and paddleboards on the Mystic River Sunday because of the threat of thunderstorms.

Weather permitting, the event will take place Sept. 17.

Participants may follow an 11-mile route from Mystic River headwater in Old Mystic to the mouth in Noank and back, or join the group at any of several public access points along the way. Although the event is free, registration is required through the alliance’s website, https://www.alliancemrw.org.
