Winter has been a hit-and-miss proposition these past few years, but there is still cold-weather-adjacent fun to be had.

Which brings us to Wintertide, a three-day event at Mystic Seaport Museum.

Visitors can meet reindeer (yes, real, actual reindeer) and winter working dogs. They can watch an ice sculptor turn blocks of ice into playable games (I’m assuming that doesn’t mean Monopoly or Operation, but we’ll see). They can see the museum’s exhibits as well as shows in the planetarium.

This is a family-friendly fest, and kids might like to take part in the games and crafts, jump around in a bounce house, and listen to music.

Wintertide, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat.-Mon., Mystic Seaport Museum, Greenmanville Ave., Mystic; $23 for adults, $18 for youths; tickets are good for all three days of the event; members are admitted free; mysticseaport.org.
