If you're going to try to broaden the thematic parameters of an art exhibit, calling the show "It Is What It Is" sort of sets an all-encompassing tone. And so it goes at the Essex Art Association with the final exhibition of its regular season. More than 200 imaginative works will be on display, each focused on the respective artist's favorite "It." Included will be watercolors, oils, monochrome, sculpture, photography and, as pictured here with "Barn" by Diane Stone, pastels.
