Westbrook resident Beverly Schirmeier is the featured artist for the month of September at the Artists' View Learning Center, 25 Boston Post Road, Madison. Her solo show of New England landscapes and still life oil and pastel paintings is on display through Sept. 30. The public is invited to an opening reception on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Schirmeier holds memberships in the many organizations, including the Connecticut Pastel Society, East Hampton Art Association, Connecticut Plein Air Painters, and Clinton Art Societies. She has held the positions of president and chair of the Madison Art Society (MAS) in the past. Currently, she is the president of MAS. Her paintings are composed en plein air.
