Galleries in Westerly join for Arts Crawl

    Elizabeth Lind stone carving (Submitted)

Westerly’s First Fridays Arts Crawl this month includes 60 artists at the Artist Cooperative Gallery and the stone carvings of Elizabeth Lind, among many other exhibits.

The Artist Cooperative Gallery explores the theme “Listen to Your Mother (Earth),” with 60 artists sharing paintings, photography, textiles, works in wood, ceramics and jewelry.

At AiR Studio Gallery, 19b Railroad Ave., “Myths & Realities” is a two-person show, curated by January artist-in-resident Shari Weschler, who has paired her paintings, drawings and photography with the stone carvings of Elizabeth Lind. Both artists explore female worlds and form through myths and realities.

Just around the corner on Canal Street, at Westerly Camera & Darkroom, there will be a show of photographic monoprints by Paul Bloomfield, who will also be giving an artist talk. Next door at The United Theatre is "The Cyclist,” donated by artist William Hewes, available for purchase via silent auction to benefit the Westerly Wave Runners, the Artists' Cooperative Gallery, and The United Theatre.

The arts crawl runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. For a full list of participants, go to www.anniewildey.com/westerlyartcrawlmap.html#/.
