    High school roundup: East Lyme knocks off Amity in volleyball

    Woodbridge — Sydney Iannantuono had 27 kills and seven digs to lead East Lyme past Amity, 3-1, in a nonleague volleyball match on Wednesday.

    The Vikings won 25-22, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-16. Mya Delesdernier had 13 kills and seven digs while Sophie Dubreuil had 17 digs and Kamryn Ebersole 33 assists for the Vikings (14-1). Amity, last season's Class LL runnerup,fell to 11-4.

    In other matches:

    • Gretchen Dusza chipped in seven aces and 31 assists to help Waterford shut out Lyman Memorial in a nonleague match. The Lancers (13-3) won 25-20, 25-15 and 25-21. Ryleigh Gonyo contributed 12 kills and 13 digs while Olivia Gianakos added seven kills for Waterford.

    • Ledyard swept Norwich Tech 25-6, 25-6, 25-12 in a nonleague meet. Katie Krupansky had nine aces and 10 digs, Kira Kassim had seven kills and Brooke Carrender had five aces and four kills for Ledyard (10-7). Riley Riewerts had six kills and five assists and Jade Houtman-Wolchesky had five kills and two blocks for Norwich Tech (7-8).

    • Eliana Jewell contributed nine kills and eight digs while Bella Llana had 14 assists and 10 digs and Sarah Ericson added four kills, four aces and 10 digs in Norwich Free Academy's 3-0 loss to RHAM. Game scores are 25-22, 25-18 and 27-25 for The Wildcats dipped to 6-8.

    • Nora Ryan had nine kills and Olivia Carney added 18 assists in Fitch's 3-0 loss at Glastonbury. Game scores were 25-19, 25-23, and 25-15. The Falcons fell to 8-7.

    • Montville swept Wheeler by game scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-15. Mckenzie Ullrich had four assists, 16 digs and three aces while Abby Diamantini had 17 digs and Gabby Beal added nine digs and six aces for the Indians (12-5).

    • Old Lyme lost to Hale Ray, 25-10, 25-6 and 25-14, in a Shoreline Conference match. Abby Sicuranza had four aces and Katie Reid added six assists for the Wildcats.

    Girls' soccer

    • Freshman Olivia Goode scored the game's only goal as New London beat Windham 1-0. The Whalers are 5-9.

    • Lexi LaPerle scored two goals and added an assist in Ledyard's 3-0 win over Fitch (1-13). Annie Geoly also scored the for Colonels (4-8-1) while Savannah Wahrer had 12 saves and Natalie Poulton had one save.

    • Kayla Park and Abigail Tucker each scored for Norwich Free Academy in a 2-0 win over Montville (11-4). Allyson Knorr-Anderson made nine saves to earn the shutout for the Wildcats (8-4-2).

    Boys' soccer

    • Billy Niles scored twice as St. Bernard beat Grasso Tech 5-1 in a nonleague game. David Crowe and Dan Kelly also scored and Mike Whipple and Martin Arvidson combined for four saves for St. Bernard (10-4). Kevin Duarte scored a goal and Joel Potter made 10 saves for Grasso (2-11-1).
