    H.S. lacrosse: Montville girls clinch share of ECC Division III title

    New London — Montville clinched at least a share of the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III girls' lacrosse title with an 18-8 victory over New London on Saturday.

    The Indians (11-1, 8-0) can win the outright championship with a victory at Killingly on Monday.

    Alexis DeLucia had seven goals and an assist to lead Montville while Mackenzie Ullrich added five goals, Maddie Gould had two goals and an assist, Grace Sanford scored twice, Nia Muckenthaler and Madi Price each scored a goal and Elie Bowman had an assist.

    Desiree Johnson and Emilia Skrabacz scored three goals apiece for the Whalers (3-5, 3-3) while Olivia Yard and Natalia Paul added one goal each.

    In other games:

    • Emma Sabbadini had five goals and six assists and Hannah Lamb scored seven goals as Stonington beat RHAM 21-10 in a non-league game. Katherine Glenn and Kate Johnson had two goals and four assists each, Kathryn Logel had a goal and two assists and Megan Detwiler scored twice for Stonington (11-2). 

    • Maeve Counter had two goals and three assists to highlight East Lyme's 19-2 victory over Norwich Free Academy in an ECC Division I game. Nancy Alden added three goals for the Vikings (8-3, 2-1), who led 14-0 at halftime, while Megan Bauman had two goals and two assists, Sophie Taylor, Abby Mountain and Anna Johnson each had two goals and one assist, Natale Taylor had three assists, Sammi Valakos, Julia Bates and Kristen Healy had one goal and one assist apiece, and Caroline Real, Sydney Sager and Meredith Healy had one goal each. Mackenzie Shrewsbury and Mirra Fontaine scored goals for NFA (0-10, 0-3).

    Boys

    • Caleb Holdridge scored four goals and Waterford jumped to an 11-0 halftime lead on the way to a 13-4 victory over Stonington. Ryan Huta added three goals for the Lancers (10-1) while Kyle Jacobson had two goals and one assist, Mason LaForte scored two goals, Zander Stringer and Peter Lincoln each had one goal and one assist, and Jackson Cooper and Joe Lillis had one assist apiece. Sean Peglow had a goal and two assists for the Bears (5-5) while Aaron Lahah, Christian Hudson and Lucian Kronholm each added a goal.

    • Derek Debbis scored five goals as Montville won its first game with an 8-7 win over Norwich Tech/Windham Tech. Matt Elwell, Brandon Pedersen and Sean Ventresca each added a goal for the Indians (1-9) and Stevie Turchetta made 15 saves. James Balogh, Cole Paquin and Dylan Relaz scored two goals each for the Warriors (3-5).

    • Hand outscored East Lyme 5-1 in the second half to pull away for a 9-4 non-conference win. Robbie Swenson, James McCoy, Alec Kosinski and Blane Hart each scored a goal for the Vikings (7-4) while Alex Jakubczak had two assists and Cam Hart one.

    • RHAM outlasted Norwich Free Academy 9-6 in a non-conference game. Mason McMahon had three goals and one assist for the Wildcats (3-8) while Quinn Perkins had two assists and goalie Lavery Hill made 19 saves.

    • Harry Anselmi had five goals and three assists as Williams downed Marianapolis Prep on Friday, 12-5. Sebastian Marshall had three goals, Nicholas Ferrucci scored twice, and Cody Delaurentis had a goal and an assist for Williams (2-4-1).
