    H.S. soccer roundup: East Lyme boys blank Fitch

    East Lyme — Goalie Matt Binaco made six saves for the East Lyme High school boys' soccer team Wednesday in a 4-0 victory over Fitch in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division.

    Griffin Woods, Eddie Lorah, Kyle Bohonowicz and Alex Zidakovic all had goals for the Vikings (6-0-1, 5-0) and Nico Francone added a pair of assists.

    Fitch is 2-5, 0-4.

    In other games:

    • Jeff Tryon had a goal and three assists as Montville beat Stonington 7-0 in the ECC Medium. Nick Strecker had three goals and Connor Leeman had a goal and two assists for the Indians (7-1, 4-0). Also, Matt Staehle and Colin Mansel scored. Casey Sartor scored for Stonington (0-5-2, 0-3-2).

    • Justin Audoin scored in the 52nd minute as Wheeler edged Plainfield 1-0 in the ECC Small. Chris Fowler had the assist for the Lions (2-3-1, 2-2-1).

    • Patrick Hanrahan had a goal and an assist and goalie Romer Ochoa scored on a second-half penalty kick for New London in a 3-0 victory over Grasso Tech. Rafayel Wassel added a goal for the Whalers (5-1-2) and Ochoa finished with five saves. Ralph Abbott made eight saves for Grasso (4-4).

    • Malcolm McLellan's first-half goal stood up as Bacon Academy beat Waterford 1-0. Connor McHugh had four saves for Bacon (4-3, 2-3). Elliott Diana had nine saves for Waterford (1-4-1, 0-3).

    • Ryan Lincoln and Russell Sullivan scored for Griswold in its 2-0 win over St. Bernard in the ECC Small. Kevin Lauria had an assist for the Wolverines (3-7, 3-2) and Andrew Samborski added five saves. Kevin Kersey had 14 saves for St. Bernard (2-6, 2-3).

    • Ledyard scored three times in the second half, beating Windham 3-0 in an ECC Medium Division game. Kevin McCarthy, Zach Higgins and Gabe May scored and T.J. Clapp-Farinah had an assist for Ledyard (6-2, 3-1).

    • Billy Coughlin had a goal and assisted on a goal by Brendan Liebal as Norwich Tech tied Cheney Tech 2-2 in double overtime. Neither team scored in overtime. Logan Hanes made eight saves for Norwich Tech (0-6-1).

    Girls

    • Sophia Formiglio, Megan Gada, Shania Homiski and Jackie Cardoza all scored for NFA in its 4-0 win over Woodstock Academy in the ECC Large. Yana Babbitt had three saves for NFA (4-2, 2-2).

    • Bri Casey had two goals and an assist as Lyman Memorial beat Montville 3-0 in the ECC Small. Nicole Monce scored for the Bulldogs (4-3, 3-0). Meghan Autencio had 24 saves for Montville (1-6, 0-4).

    • Emily Hamilton scored three goals to help lift Williams School to a 6-2 win over St. Andrew's. Capri DeBiccari had a goal and two assists and Cassidy Taylor had a goal and an assist for Williams.

    • Mikayla Van Dam had two goals for Putnam as it beat Grasso Tech 7-1 in the CSC. Abby Rabone scored for Grasso.
