Indians Girls' Swimming and Diving Squad Hosts Swim-a-Thon for Breast Cancer Awareness

In early October, the North Haven Indians' girls' swimming and diving team and Coach Colleen Delaney held a Swim-a-Thon to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Each Indians' athlete swam for 30 minutes and collected pledges and donations for the number of laps they swam. The swimmers also decorated their white swim caps with the names of breast cancer survivors and swam laps in their honor. North Haven additionally ran a pink bake sale, selling treats decorated with the traditional pink toppings in honor of breast cancer survivors. Lasermedica donated all proceeds from their sales of feather hair extensions, and as a result of this united effort, the Indians collected $2,500 that was donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. Photo and information courtesy of Wendy Marinelli
