Thompson - East Lyme's Barbara Wilson successfully defended her individual title and Norwich Free Academy won the team title in Wednesday's Eastern Connecticut Conference girls' golf tournament at Quinnatisset Country Club.

Wilson shot a 5-over par 41 to beat Waterford's Nicole Ager by three shots. The Wildcats, meanwhile, finished with a 199 stroke total to beat defending champion Woodstock Academy (205) and Bacon Academy (212).

Abby Postler shot a 48 to lead NFA while Jane Conway and Melissa Godere each shot 50, Olivia Carignan had a 51 and Katie Strickland a 54.

Jaime McCurry was Bacon's low scorer at 47 while three players shot 55 - Carey Ozmun, Kate Bickhardt and Alexa Stanton.

Boys' golf

• Waterford's Nick Hedden shot a 1-under-par 34 at Great Neck Country Club to edge Stonington's Chris Bovino by a stroke as the Lancers beat Stonington 6-1 in the ECC Medium Division. Chris Alfera added a 39 for the Lancers (8-6, 6-4) while Sam Ognisty (41) had the lone win for the Bears (14-6, 5-5).

• Corey Jones (43), Jimmy Fiftal (46) and Luke Teixeira (51) won their matches to lift Fitch past Bacon Academy 5-2 in the ECC Large Division. Tyler Sceiblich shot a 40 to earn medalist honors for Bacon (5-11, 2-6). Fitch is 4-12, 3-7.

• NFA split a three-team nonleague match, beating East Haven 163-198 but losing to host Xavier (147). Nick Kamireddy and Justin Bohara each shot 4-over-pars 39s for NFA (13-3).

• East Lyme's Fran Shields shot a 39 to take medalist honors as the Vikings beat Wheeler 7-0 in a nonleague match. Drew Bradley, Will Belke, Dinkar Ahuja and Ross Krasner also won matches for East Lyme (11-6).

• Andy Heckler shot a 1-over par 36 at TPC River Highlands, leading Old Saybrook over Cromwell, 156-180, in the Shoreline Conference. Matt Cummins (39), Jack Ayers (40) and J.T. Giegerich (41) also competed for the Rams.

Baseball

• Saxon Herbert pitched a complete game six-hitter and Waterford rode a five-run second inning to an 8-3 victory over North Kingstown (R.I.). Jordan Hamler hit a three-run homer in the second for the Lancers, who finish the regular season 17-3, while Seth Hoagland, Kyle Willoughby and Dan Santos each had two hits. North Kingstown is 16-4.

• T.J. Fearon retired the final 13 batters as Bacon ended its regular season with a 6-4 win over Granby Memorial. Fearon (5-2) allowed only two hits and struck out five for the Bobcats (9-11), while Danny Pinto and Tom Dunbar had two hits each for Bacon, including RBI singles in a five-run second.

• Chris Turner pitched a five-hitter and struck out nine as Ledyard ended its season with a 4-1 win over Ledyard. Jordan Kowalski had had hits for the Colonels, who finish 7-13, while Chris Fowler went 2-for-4 to lead the Lions, who were beaten by Plainfield earlier in the day and dropped to 2-17.

Boys' track

• Griswold clinched the ECC Small Division title by sweeping St. Bernard (107-38) and Tourtellotte (105-16). C.J. Burroughs (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles), Anthony Boyington (long jump, triple jump) and Kyle Craig (shot put, discus) were double winners for the Wolverines (5-1, 4-0). St. Bernard (3-3, 2-2) beat Tourtellotte 82-43 as Joe Chmura was the won the high jump and Jon Burianek, Alex Davis, Joe Ferraro and Gabe Vallario won the 4x800 relay.

• The 4x800 relay team of Michael Barrett, Spencer Arbige, Michael Souza and Sean Hughes set a meet record with a time of 8:05.41, leading Old Saybrook to third place in the Shoreline Conference Championship. Arbige won the 800 in 1:59.79 for the Rams who had 87.5 points.

Vi Marafito placed second in the 800 (2:00.21) and Nick Walker was second in the 3,200 (9:51.02) and 1,600 (4:27.89) for Old Lyme, which placed fifth with 66 points.

• Ledyard's 4x200 relay quartet of Joe Cotter, Alex Paterson, Ben Bruciati and Steve Servidio ran a school record 1:36.6 to win the Westerly Invite. The distance medley relay team of Zack Higgins, Bruciati, Corey Coates and Andrew Kline won in 11:54 and Chris Zippieri was third in the pole vault (11 feet).

Girls' track

• Old Saybrook easily outdistanced the field to capture the Shoreline Conference Championship. The Rams scored 150.5 points and East Hampton was second with 102.

The 4x400 relay team of Cori Reid, Erin Daley, Kimberly Glorioso and Kiran Khosla broke a 39-year old meet record with a time of 4:09.41.

Katie Beezer won the 100 hurdles in 16.08 seconds while Cori Reed finished first in the 400 in 59.19, first in the javelin (100-0) and second in the 800 (2:28.76) for Old Saybrook.

Jenn Ross won the 1,600 (5:25.12) and took second in the 3,200 (12:09.54) for Old Lyme, which placed sixth with 57 points.

• Griswold won the ECC Small Division title by beating St. Bernard, 89-60, and Tourtellotte, 92-29. Abby Slonski won four individual events - 200 (27.5), long jump (14-10), triple jump (32-7) and javelin (102-7) — for the Wolverines. Maegan Czmyr took first in the shot put (27-1) and discus (71-8.5).

St. Bernard swept 4x800, 4x400 and 4x100 relay events while Allison Londregan won the 300 hurdles (50.9), Allison Regan took first in the 100 (13.1), Mackenzie Nagy won the 400 (65.9) and Heather Wallace captured the 800 (2:37).

• Ledyard's distance medley team of Lindsey Ackley, Minnie Zhang, Lauren Scahill and Cedar Nelson finished first in a school record 12:50.5 at the Westerly Invite. The sprint medley team of Chenoa Sebastian, Alix Lee, Brooke Scahill and Jordan Houdeshell won in 4:38.6 while Kyle Fustini won the discus (118-9) and took third in shot put (30-4). Ari Fustini was second in the triple jump (32-7) and Austin Graber was second in the pole vault (8-6).

Girls' lacrosse

• Molly Beck scored six goals to lead Old Saybrook to an 11-7 win over in a Shoreline Conference game. Gabby Rose had three goals and two assists, Hudson Roarick scored twice and Mattie Malinasky made 10 saves for Old Saybrook (10-6, 5-5). Liz Scott scored three goals for Old Lyme (9-6, 6-3), Allie Buckley had a goal and two assists, Fiona Barrett scored twice and Meridith Britton made seven saves.

• Alissa Maffuid had four goals while Madison LaBarbera, Alyssa Hemm and Erin Kaye each added one in Bacon Academy's 16-7 loss to Ellington.
