Waterford's Long drafted by San Francisco Giants in 38th round

Waterford — Waterford High School’s Nolan Long, a 6-foot-9 right-handed pitcher, was selected in the 38th round of Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft on Wednesday by the San Francisco Giants.

Long, also a member of the Lancers’ state championship basketball team, has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Rhode Island this fall.
