Waterford - Connor Lewis pitched a two-hitter as the Waterford High School baseball team routed Fitch on Friday, 9-0, in the program's first night home game.

The Lancers (9-1), ranked No. 1 in the New Haven Register state poll, took charge early against the Falcons, scoring four times in the first inning behind a bases-clearing double by Griffin Archambault.

Tommy Pezzolesi had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for Waterford, while Sam Strout scored three times.

Fitch (5-6), which had a four-game winning streak snapped, had singles by Cooper Robinson and Dan Mewha.

In other games:

• Winning pitcher Buddy Dewaine (3-0) allowed one earned run in six innings, striking out nine and walking one, in Montville's 7-2 win over Woodstock Academy.

Dewaine also doubled and scored twice for Montville (9-1), while Stan Kesilewski had a triple, home run and two RBI.

Also, T.T. Bowens doubled and had two RBI for the Indians, who had a season-high seven extra base hits.

• Matt Spang had two hits and scored as East Lyme capitalized on five unearned runs in a 6-1 win over New London.

C.J. Leindecker pitched a four-hitter for East Lyme (7-4). Eddie Santiago pitched a complete game for New London (2-7).

• Eddie Gates doubled twice to help lead Norwich Free Academy to an 8-4 win over Killingly. Zach Podurgiel (2-2) earned the victory for NFA (5-5).

• Lyman Memorial scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, rallying for a 6-4 win over St. Bernard in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division. Willie Rios and Pat Halloran had doubles for St. Bernard (9-2, 4-1).

• Hyde-New Haven broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the top of the sixth inning and held on to beat Old Lyme 2-1 in a Shoreline Conference game. Billy Buscetto had a single and a double for Old Lyme (4-7, 4-6).

• Providence Country Day scored eight runs in the fourth inning and cruised to a 14-0 win over Williams School in the SENE.

Andy Meagher had two hits and a stolen base for the Blues (3-5, 1-2) while Sotiraq Vangjeli doubled and stole a base.
