    He's not convinced about opioid epidemic numbers

    Certainly nobody can deny the sad and onerous presence of the current opioid epidemic, but we should perhaps look more closely at some recent statistics concerning it. According to one study, there are numerous overdoses, indicating that the problem is affecting many people.

    However, the reality of the situation according to first responders I know is that their efforts frequently involve the same individuals who overdose again and again. Doesn't this indicate that the epidemic is actually focused upon fewer individuals, and is likely less prevalent in the general population?
