Needed: Honest leaders in our difficult time

As we approach this holiday season, it’s time to reflect on all the blessings our country has and how fortunate we are as a nation; even though there’s so much political divisiveness. Our country has endured corrupt administrations in its history, surviving the Teapot Dome scandal in the 1920s, Watergate in the 1970s and now the Trump administration's debacle.

Through each scandal our country has ultimately risen above the internal strife and come together as a stronger and more compassionate nation. In those chaotic times capable leaders ascended to the presidency to calmly steer our country with compassion and the highest level of integrity. As former president Gerald Ford stated after Richard Nixon’s resignation, “Our Constitution works; our great republic is a government of laws and not of men. Here the people rule."

May our country be blessed again with exceptional, and honest leadership, to guide of nation through this difficult time and bring us together again to a brighter future.
