Urgo has gotten the job done in North Stonington

In any election candidates offer promises for their candidacy. North Stonington has a first selectman who has shown what he can do both prior to being in office and since being elected; act on his promises.

Mike Urgo steered the school renovation committee to an under-budget and on-time construction. Urgo led the initiative to begin what has become a yearly townwide NoStoFest. Urgo spurred the beginnings of the North Stonington quarterly and Informed Citizens of North Stonington.

Since being elected, Urgo has contacted principals responsible for the Boombridge Bridge weekly and now, after 12 years, the construction contract to begin work this spring is a reality. The long-awaited destruction of the blighted old Gary's Restaurant has been accomplished. Signage welcoming folks entering our town, with the addition of "Schools of Distinction," were quickly put in place.

Sewer and water discussions with Stonington have begun and our animals needing shelter are now held in a cooperative arrangement in Stonington's new facility. Urgo has attended every board and commission meeting assuring a smooth, positive, collaborative relationship.

Mike Urgo's energy and accomplishments need to be supported at the polls.
