I just skimmed over the article “Chardonnay in the shoe department: Retailers are increasingly serving alcohol to woo shoppers,” (Feb. 16). Yikes!! $2,500 for boots and $995 for sneakers – disgusting! The “icing on the cake” – these shopaholics get to hit the gin mill while they’re shopping. Pathetic, simply put.

Not me, I’m walking my dogs, crocheting, playing the piano and writing out donations to different animal rescues. And, in between all that, I fill the bird feeders.

Getting back to the ridiculously priced boots and sneakers, discount-store sneakers and boots suit me just fine.
