Thousands of masks from 'Maskateers' and Maze Stephan

Maze Stephan is a name that we should all know and recognize in Southeastern Connecticut. She has started the organization Mask Makers in Connecticut; those who help make masks she calls "Maskateers." Maze has organized a group of 114 volunteers who give their time to produce quality masks that exceed CDC standards. Many hands make it so they can make 300-600 masks a day. As a team they carefully sanitize, pack, and deliver the masks all over Connecticut, but mostly here.

So far Maze’s group has produced and given over 33,000 masks to first responders, including military, nurses, police and fire, but also to the needy and homeless. Local political leaders including Chris Conley, Cathy Osten and Heather Somers help the Maskateers by referring places that need masks. I know this because thanks to Rep. Chris Conley, the Maskateers just gave 1,550 masks to SEAT to hand out to SEAT’s riders.

Maze Stephan is an amazing person who organized an executive board to manage this group, and together they find volunteer jobs for those with "heart to help." While they do not charge for the masks, they survive with donations of money and materials. For information email MaskMakersInCT@gmail.com.
