Lt. governor endorses Welch-Collins in Waterford House race

I am proud to endorse my friend, Baird Welch-Collins, for the 38th state representative district.

Baird is a life-long resident of Waterford, an honors graduate of Connecticut College, a member of the Waterford RTM, a social studies teacher at Lyman Memorial High School and a domestic violence prevention educator at Safe Futures.

I am supporting Baird because he has a plan to improve the economy in southeastern Connecticut and our state by investing in infrastructure, transportation, strengthening public education, and supporting small business development and retention.

I ask you to join me in supporting him because he shares our values and priorities. You can count on him to protect reproductive health care and fight for pay equity for women. He will be an advocate for our seniors and veterans. The legislature needs his voice to end gun violence and opioid addiction and he will fight to preserve our environment and the beautiful shoreline of his district. He supports raising the minimum wage to $15 and Paid Family Medical Leave, unlike his opponent, who voted against these important initiatives.

Baird will bring intelligence, integrity, and innovative ideas to the legislature.

    Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz

    Middletown
