Stick to the issues, not personalities and acquaintances

Regarding the article by David Collins, “Candidate’s daughter, a veteran of The Day, won a Pulitzer,” (Aug. 4), I ask what in blazes has the candidate’s daughters (I am impressed regarding her journalism ethics) daily health regimen, and using the words endlessly impressed door-to-door campaigning, have to do with what the candidate's platform for the 37th House District?

I ask what can the candidate provide that will be beneficial and superior to what current state Rep. Holly Cheeseman has accomplished during her elected terms?

Also, credit Cheeseman for not politicizing matters for the many who needed her professional guidance, which she continues to provide to the people within the 37th District.

In place of using this sanctioned Day space set aside for constructive journalism, I would have assumed that taking out a political ad would have sufficed.
