Celebrating Wojtas' award, Day's great journalism
Congratulations to The Day and to reporter Joe Wojtas for being awarded the First Amendment Award by the New England Newspaper and Press Association, “Wojtas’ work recognized by regional press group,” (Nov. 19). I followed with horror this Stonington story: what could the Board of Education have been thinking? Were there procedures in place in my town to assure that such a teacher was never so coddled? I am reminded daily how fortunate we are in southeastern Connecticut to have an independent newspaper with investigative reporters like David Collins and Joe Wojtas!
