For unity, look to the good that President Trump has done

In response to Kenneth Wade’s article, “Trump backers won’t forget treatment of president,” (Dec. 20), I am sad that there is such a strong and bitter division between people in our nation. I can totally understand why supporters of President Tump might feel ostracized and unhappy about the many displays of resistance, frequent fact-checking and making jokes at Trump's expense. Most of us have not adequately learned the lessons of kindness. When we are kind to each other we get along better and we all feel happier.

As we approach the end of Trump’s term of office, I would really like it if his supporters would remind us of some of the strong points of his presidency: the accomplishments that will help you to remember him as “one of our best presidents.” I feel sincerely that this will help readers to become aware of some of Trump’s strengths that they may have overlooked. By helping others appreciate Trump’s good qualities, I am hoping that greater unity and understanding will be promoted.
