She opposes plan to subdivide lot in Mystic

After the passing of my elderly neighbor, his home was purchased by a limited liability corporation that was formed to divide the property and squeeze three houses onto the one lot. In a zoning hearing held via Zoom Jan. 27, the attorney for the LLC said that the unidentifiable people behind this project visited Mystic and loved it so much that they decided to create a subdivision on property that is just outside my kitchen window.

Although the regulations posted on the Town of Groton website clearly indicate that subdivisions should not destroy the character of a neighborhood, diminish property values, invade privacy, or destroy the natural topography of land, the attorney for the project told the board that these are not valid considerations, and that state law mandates that this project be approved.

I am very concerned that no one on the board corrected this statement and I publicly urge them to reject this project, stand up for the people of Groton and vote to maintain the historic character, beauty, and charm of Mystic.
