Possible reversal if senators were hurt?
Supposing that during the Jan. 6 insurrection, several senators had been injured, maimed, or killed; Does anyone want to lay odds that the senate impeachment vote would have been quite different? A few drops of their own blood shed on the Capitol floor might have brought home who was to blame for this attack.
Because the Capitol Police carried out their duties to keep our congress people safe, herded them into protected areas and shielded them from the mob, the majority of Republican senators felt they could safely vote "not guilty" without a thought of the price Capitol Police ultimately paid for this protection.
What ungrateful cowards!
