State needs Klarides to run for governor

Connecticut has been governed by one-party rule for over a decade. Despite this nearly unchecked control, Connecticut Democrats have failed to fix the problems that have plagued us in nearly every category. Most expensive to live in, highest tax burden, lowest population growth, lowest job growth; you name it. Simply put, the people we have elected to lead our state’s executive branch have failed to turn it around.  Connecticut Republicans have suffered close defeats in our gubernatorial elections over the past decade. But we might have our best opportunity in over a decade to change that in 2022.

Themis Klarides is the type of exciting and accomplished candidate Connecticut Republicans desperately need to turn around our electoral misfortunes. As House minority leader, Themis passed the only minority party budget in the country. It included spending caps, borrowing caps and the mechanisms that are directly responsible for our rainy day fund being where it is today. Themis led the House in blocking tolls on cars in 2019. Themis has the leadership, experience and determination needed to turn around Connecticut.

I strongly urge Themis Klarides to run for governor.
