State Sen. Edith Prague is not only a great senator, but also a wonderful human being. My daughter Marley was born prematurely at 24 weeks weighing only 1 pound, 2 ounces. She had many surgeries for her vision and to relieve pressure on her brain. When she came home, I was overwhelmed by the doctor appointments and medical bills. My husband and I had both been laid off and didn't know how we would make ends meet. It didn't matter who we talked to about a payment plan for Marley's medical bills; they just wanted their money as soon as possible.

We contacted Sen. Prague and told her of our distress. With her help we were accepted for Husky Insurance. Because of Sen. Prague we now can manage our medical bills appropriately.

I recently started a support group for parents of special-needs children. Sen. Prague was kind enough to speak to those of us who have been having trouble getting proper help from the state. She listened to each of us and gave us helpful advice.
