I want to take a moment to celebrate college students. Almost every day at the New London Homeless Hospitality Center a college student from Connecticut College or the Coast Guard Academy is on hand to help, whether it is providing a snack and fellowship at our overnight shelter, staffing our front desk, sorting mail, working one-on-one with our guests or doing special projects. Students from the Connecticut College Holleran Center devote a whole semester to helping plan and implement our annual walk for the homeless, helping us raise thousands of dollars that keep our doors open. Students freely offer their time and the schools provide the tools to help them serve.

New London is enriched in so many ways by the presence of these wonderful young people. We appreciate them for their generous service and the college administrators who understand the value of service.
