    Turning the Town Teal

On behalf of the Turn the Towns Teal campaign, many thanks are needed. First to First Selectmen Joseph Mazza and the Board of Selectman for their support proclaiming September to be Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in Guilford.

The many businesses in town, mostly around the Green, were extremely willing to participate, decorate their windows in teal, adorn doors with teal ribbons and share information for residents about the signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer.

As a 24-year resident of Guilford, I so appreciated the kindness and enthusiasm displayed-not to mention the personal insights many business owners shared about their own experiences with cancer. Many thanks also go to my dear friends and neighbors on Chaffinch Island Road for decorating our street with ribbons and posters.

Next year, we hope to Turn the Shoreline Teal! I encourage your readers to contact me if they want to volunteer next September. The photos of Guilford's participation with teal ribbons are posted on the website: www.turnthetownsteal.org. Readers can also add a comment or testimonial on the site as well.
