I read with enthusiasm your special insert entitled "40 Under 40" (Jan. 4). Indeed, you showcased a variety of individuals who are making a difference in our region.

While their accomplishments are certainly noteworthy, I wondered where are the amazing teachers, who work tirelessly every day with our most important resource, our children?

As an experienced and now retired school administrator, I know that there are many outstanding teachers under 40 who could have been included in your feature story.

They obviously fit the bill as they are young, professionals "contributing to the lives of their fellow citizens and giving back and paving the way for future generations."

After all, as the adage goes, teachers make all other professions possible.

While considering this addition to your list, please also think about the nurses and social workers, who are making a difference in our corner of the state.
