Iconic D-Day photo misused in cartoon

I am appalled that the Sept. 4, 2017 cartoon depicting Gen. Dwight Eisenhower speaking to the 101st Airborne troops prior to their D-Day drop into France was published. It implied that Eisenhower words were some sort of stump speech.
It is disrespectful to those who fought and died in World War II. Many of those men in that photo probably did not live more than a day. Yet the artist, as well as The Day opinion editor, felt it was appropriate to print that iconic photo without regard for its place in history or the hurt family members might have from those false words depicted.
I hope there are more people who feel like I do and will write to The Day voicing their concern.
