Should phones be allowed in schools?

It is logical that phones should not be used in classes. As there are pros for being allowed to have a phone during class, there are also cons.

Phones are great devices that keep us connected to our loved ones but they can get really irritating and disrespectful when allowed during a lecture.

Cell phones have many positive aspects, as when an emergency happens, students can call the security department or even a parent. Students can use their phones to get better education about the lecture if they are not understanding it. Students can get connected to other students by means of texting if they are working on a project.

Cell phones have strong negative aspects that can even lead to no phones at all in school. Phones can greatly be used for cheating purposes, not only for tests but also for classwork.

In my opinion phones should be allowed during lunch or free period but not during the class. I think that would also increase the interest of students in studies.
