Recognize ballot helpers to town clerks

I want to express my gratitude to those who are helping town clerks process the tidal wave of absentee ballots this year.

Whether or not you agree with the executive orders that made such voting possible, these folks helped many people safely and securely cast their ballots without having to risk their health. Processing all these envelopes has a direct, positive effect on public health, and I would encourage towns to recognize these individuals after the ballots are counted.

Expanded absentee balloting is one of many steps that has kept the virus at such low levels compared to other states, and it helps raise turnout in a year when it is important that we all have a voice. And while there is a lot of good debate to be had about the future of voting in the state, we can all agree that the efforts of those helping town clerks this year are playing a key role in getting us through the pandemic. Because of them, my community is safer! Thank you!
