Peck is dedicated to New London

New London Democrats are offering voters a full choice in November with a mix of experienced office holders and newcomers.

Akil Peck, a candidate for city council, is one of the newcomers, although his service to the community already includes a long list of a volunteer positions outside of city government.

He has served as a community service director, a disaster response volunteer, and as a TVCCA Movable Feast driver.

Adding to his commitment to our community, he has served on the Thames Valley Music School board, the New London Homeless and Hospitality Center board and he serves as a TVCCA Moveable Feast driver.

In other words, he is dedicated to our community and the people in it.

If elected he plans to work for more business development and to improve public safety. He is also a big proponent of community partnerships and promoting involvement in our city, among other things.

I was impressed when I spoke with him, and I think you would be, too. Join me in voting for Akil and all the Democrats on the ballot Nov. 2.

    Bruce MacDonald
