    Cal “Cancel Disney” Thomas

I submit it is time for The Day to drop Cal Thomas and replace his witless commentary with anything, or anyone else. White space would work. How about an actual dinosaur?

Dinosaur tracks across the page would be as enlightening.

In a recent rant he blames the Disney Empire for having an opinion, something the columnist has with every in-breath he takes, "What would Walt think?," (April 29).

It bothers him not a whit that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, gangland style, is determined to punish the iconic company for disagreeing with him. Imagine that — disagreeing with running Ron during his run for the presidency. Saints preserve us if he becomes president.

The era of gangster politics is upon us. DiSantis and his ilk (anyone else come to mind whose first name rhymes with Ron?) have no qualms about using the power of the state to retaliate against those who disagree with them, including the voters.

The next step in the devolution of American democracy will be when the Dons and Rons of this world, not the voters, get to decide who wins elections. That almost happened in 2020.
