I had thought everyone had forgotten about the nastiness involved with the Connecticut Port Authority, but thankfully, David Collins did not. The powers that be effectively put New London out of the road salt business, and now we have to get it from New Haven, a "political plum" for the New Haven operator, with we taxpayers footing the bill. I always wondered why our Representative, Joe Courtney, did not step in to stop it? The whole state pier scenario really stinks, with we taxpayers paying for it. If Kevin Blacker decides to run for office, he will certainly have my vote.
