Act in the interest of we

Priorities are typically clouded by the ethical and moral choices that ALL of us make each day. All too often the inability to work together and find real common ground is clouded by two sub-factors that may modify “Right vs Wrong” (righteousness) decisions we make.

The first sub-factor is making the “Right vs Wrong” choice with the “good of the whole” or the “good of the individual/small group” in mind (WE vs ME)? I.e., selflessness or selfishness? The second sub-factor is referred to as “Friend vs Foe” (open or narrow-mindedness). Friend is referring to someone that agrees with your point of view on a particular topic. Foe is referring to someone that has an opposing point of view.

All too often, we allow the first and second sub-factor arguments to influence the final righteousness decision, when really the only decision should be the unadulterated “Right vs Wrong.” “Right vs Wrong” is troublesome enough, without tainting it with selfishness and close-mindedness.

I grow tired of the selfishness of ego demonstrations in this country. Consider acting in the interest of “WE” instead of “ME” to do the right thing. More selflessness needs to be the order of the day.
