    Senior citizens should stop complaining

Why does The Day and the general media continue to print endless articles about how bad things are in the U.S., such as “Tough choices for older Americans." Senior citizens, obviously with some exceptions, are the wealthiest class of people in the history of the world. Yet the article talks about the retired couple who might have to sell their four-bedroom McMansion and downsize (what a hardship); the 76-year-old who is working (they should be blessed they are still active).

The false narrative about our "fixed income." My wife and I are getting an 8.7% raise in January in Social Security and our medical insurance costs are going down. That is a bigger raise than many working folks are getting who have a family to support.

Let every senior rejoice this holiday season how lucky we are to have had the opportunities this nation has given us.
