Questions on Norwich referendum
I have questions about the upcoming referendum in Norwich on fire department mutual aid. (“Norwich will have two special elections in coming months,” Jan. 4)
First, who was it that approached citizens of Norwich with the petition to make this referendum happen? What were they told that made them think that this referendum was more important than their own safety? Is what they were told true? How much is this referendum going to cost the taxpayers of Norwich? Why are the City Council members who are also members of volunteer fire departments even allowed to vote on these issues?
