    Remember the Holocaust

With the recent passing of Holocaust Memorial Day, it is especially important that we both remember this atrocity, especially as survivors of such horror continue to fall in population. In 2020, there was a survey by The Claims Conference of a thousand Americans, with each state having 200 of its citizens surveyed. Their results implied that about one in eight Americans aged 18 to 39 had not heard (or at least, did not think they had heard) of the Holocaust.

Given that some of America's most famous figures are Jewish - such as Albert Einstein, Groucho Marx, Mark Rothko, and Steven Spielberg – that is an appalling statistic. Fortunately, the same survey gathered that nearly two-thirds of Americans believe schools should be required to teach about the Holocaust, and that seven of out 10 Americans would call neo-Nazi views unacceptable. So perhaps there is hope yet.
