Too little, too late to save shoreline birds

Too little WAY too late in an attempt to protect the plovers and other shoreline birds. Why did an article on respecting the boundaries of shoreline birds not get published until the end of July? As a daily visitor to the shoreline, specifically Harkness and Seaside State Parks, this is by far the worst year I have witnessed as far as blatant disregard for wildlife.

Even DEEP dropped the ball on protection procedures this year for a number of reasons. The normal fencing and barriers that are installed were not put in place until June and even then only partially installed. Staff shortages and park priorities were to blame I was told. The gardens and restoring the stone walls at the entrance were more important. Guests to the park daily choose to ignore the fencing and signage and I'm not the only one seeing that and posting about it on social media. Photographers, dog walkers, families and friends including groups of 25 people or more bringing lawn chairs and coolers have been escorted out by the park night rangers.
