To Groton Town Council, the public is watching you

Portia Bordelon, a member of the Groton Town Council, is obviously invested in her role as a councilor and puts countless hours into the betterment of our town. What upsets me is the way she has been repeatedly treated by certain other councilors. Just watch a few televised episodes of town council meetings and you will see what I am talking about.

I have seen Miss Bordelon demeaned and treated rudely on several different occasions. As a retired teacher of over 30 years, I know bullying when I see it. I am complicit if I do not say something. If those involved in this behavior towards Miss Bordelon hold a personal grudge, I ask that you put it aside when discussing town business. If you differ on opinions, then respectfully disagree.

To the Groton Town Council members involved in creating this hostile environment, please remember, Miss Bordelon was voted in overwhelmingly by the citizens of our town. Moving forward, I respectfully ask each member of the town council involved in this unacceptable situation to change your behavior and treat Miss Bordelon with respect. The public is watching you.
