Why blame the player for UConn loss?

I write in response to Mike DiMauro’s article, “Put blame on Edwards as much as the official,” (The Day, April 7) on sharing of blame for UConn loss.

We must recognize the pedantic display of his basketball knowledge. He opens the article with “amusing.” I have trouble selecting the right channel, never mind “moving screen violation.” This is my problem. Was this headline an example of great reporting? Accept the violation, but you are maligning an outstanding player who has been honored. Her skill brought the team to those final moments.

As a journalist, you have a heavy responsibility. Write about screens, but why the need to emphasize blame? She may have been wrong, but was it necessary for such a headline? Try to “screen your articles.”
